been happenening around here - new merchandise,
Spring events, travel, eating, fun - so please bear with

just over 90 days till the first of May.Yipes! All The

Kitchen, What Kitchen? |

Now admit it, more than a few of you have looked
across the driveway at the peeling paint and cracked
siding on our old farmhouse and thought, "Poor Nancy
and Beau, do you suppose they even have running
water in that dump?
I knew we'd lose our cover eventually... Last
July, a crew from Better Homes and Gardens came out
to photograph our kitchen for an article in their
January/February 2004 "Kitchen and Bath Ideas"
magazine...that Oliver and Lisa Douglas at Green Acres
act was starting to wear a little thin anyway.
We're still arguing about how our kitchen was
chosen. Nancy thinks that the magazine scout liked the
idea that we did all the work ourselves - with salvage
materials and decorative elements we mostly found
laying around our own store - I think it was because I
was wearing shorts and pouring wine when she arrived -
Okay, it was probably just the wine.
The magazine is out on newstands now -
right next to that copy of the Enquirer with that guy
who looks like Carole Channing and the Riddler's love
child on the cover. I think his name is Michael
something... You can also get a PDF copy
of the article by clicking on one of the magazine
thumbnail pictures or the link below.
