This week's highlights include: an unusual five-piece strap metal bistro set in sunny yellow, a beautifully mossy carved limestone panel incised with the word "Faith", a white marble French empire fireplace, a polychrome terracotta cherub, an aquarium on a wrought iron stand, a pair of copper post lights, a small spring steel garden seat, a rectangular cast stone "putti" planter and a beautiful 1920's wrought iron "tree of life" plant stand.

Farm Stand Expectations for Sunday the 22nd of June!

Not quite time for tomatoes yet, but, oh boy! You guys that didn't make it last week missed some of the most delicious strawberries ever. Expect Sue Gauger to again have a great selection of early season items including: organic lettuces, arugula, radishes, etc and more of those beautiful strawberries. Dawn's Breads will be back with a full compliment of European style baked goods for the first time this week. How about some goat cheese to spread on those crunchy baguettes? Doolittle Farm plain and herb flavored chevre' can be pre-ordered for delivery next weekend (the 28th and 29th). Call or email your orders in and we'll pass them on to an Anne.

We still have a bunch of those big, beautifully blousy, ornamental annual baskets available. They have convenient hangers on them.... if you haven't yet been able to choose the right planters from our vast selection!

Isn't a Badger Just A Big Mean Rodent?

It always starts like this... I found half a tube of this really great shaving gel under the sink in the bathroom of some English "Bates Motel" North of London. I use the stuff for two days and discover that I now can't live without it. So, I decide to test my right-hand driving skills and the vaunted British good humor by driving my truck down into Mayfair and "George F. Trumper Perfumers and Barbers" on Curzon Street. As I finish paying, the clerk notices the "Chicago" Stamp on my passport and says that they have had an outlet at 900 N. Michigan since 1990. Cripes!

Hmm... where was I? Oh yeah, the whole point of this exercise was that while I was searching for George Trumper's address on the internet I found a lot of other information about shaving equipment. Did you know that shaving brushes really are made from badger hair? How do I know this? There is an entire British website devoted to information about badgers and those who love them. Clearly Americans aren't the only people with too much time on their hands.
